2022 AFC South Division NFL Betting Odds and Predictions
The AFC South was the only division in the conference to produce just one playoff team last season. Tennessee earned the number one overall seed and the only bye up for grabs. Unfortunately, the Titans lost immediately, falling to the Bengals 19-16. 카지노사이트
Indianapolis nearly made the playoffs, needing just one win in the final two weeks. Despite an amazing effort all season from RB Jonathan Taylor, the Colts collapsed at the end of the season. Back-to-back losses to the Raiders and the Jaguars knocked Indy out of the playoffs.
Speaking of the Jaguars, last season was one to forget for Jacksonville. The Urban Meyer experiment was such a disaster that it overshadowed QB Trevor Lawrence’s rookie season. Jacksonville fired Meyer after just 13 games.
Finally, there’s the Texans. The Deshaun Watson sage meant that starting reps were split between Tyrod Taylor and Davis Mills. A 2-9 record was enough for Mills to win the starting job. However, HC David Culley was fired after one season and a 4-13 record.
There are a ton of new faces in the AFC South, and the division standings are due for a big shake-up. Here is how you can take advantage of the latest AFC South division odds from the best NFL betting sites.

AFC South Division Betting Odds
Indianapolis Colts (-140)
Tennessee Titans (+170)
Jacksonville Jaguars (+800)
Houston Texans (+2200)
According to BetOnline and other top football betting sites, the Colts (-140) are the favorites in the AFC South. The reigning champion Titans (+170) have the second-best odds to win the division. Jacksonville (+800) and Houston (+2200) are a distant third and fourth in the current betting odds.
Indianapolis Colts (-140)
The Colts (-140) will have a new Week 1 starting QB for the seventh consecutive year. Despite the turnover under center, Indy has mostly stayed competitive. This season the Colts front office is pinning their hopes on QB Matt Ryan.
Ryan is 37, but he should still be an upgrade over Carson Wentz. He will have his work cut out for him trying to get the most out of Indy’s limited WR core. A strong season could see Ryan pass both the 60,000 passing yards and 400 passing TDs marks. 바카라사이트
In fact, Ryan could pass 60,000 career passing yards in his first game. He only needs 265 yards to do it. The TDs could be another issue. Ryan needs 33 TDs to hit the 400 mark. The former MVP has not had that many passing TDs since 2018.
It will also be an issue because of the Colts’ limited receiving core. Third year WR Michael Pittman, Jr. is currently the best receiver on the team. The USC product will have to carry a heavy load this season as the options behind him are sparse.
Indy also has a strong defense that was ranked in the top 10 last season. If the Colts can overcome the loss of DC Matt Eberflus, they can be one of the best units in the league.
Tennessee Titans (+170)
The Titans (+170) are returning most of their starters from last season. Tennessee has won the AFC South in back-to-back years. However, they are not favored to repeat as AFC South champs this year.
Tennessee’s championship hopes will largely depend on the returning Derrick Henry. King Henry racked up 937 rushing yards in just eight games last season before breaking his foot. If Henry can stay healthy, he could carry the Titans to a third straight AFC South title.
QB Ryan Tannehill will once again step into the role of game manager this season for the Titans. Tannehill’s shortcomings were painfully obvious in the playoffs last season. However, if he can shake off that rough performance, Tannehill should be able to guide Tennessee to double-digit wins.
One area of concern for the Titans is their WR room. Tennessee traded away Pro Bowl WR AJ Brown and drafted Treylon Burks as his replacement. Burks has a similar build and skill set to Brown, but he will be asked to perform right away.
The Titans are returning most of their starters from last season on defense. Tennessee’s defense ranked top 10 in the NFL last season. If the defense can repeat that performance this year, the Titans could be a steal at +170 to win the division.
Jacksonville Jaguars (+800)
Jacksonville Jaguars logoTrevor Lawrence and the Jaguars (+800) have the third-best odds to win the AFC South. After one of the most chaotic rookie seasons in recent memory, Lawrence should take multiple steps forward this year. Jacksonville hired Doug Peterson, a former QB and Super Bowl champion, as the team’s new head coach.
Peterson was a vital part of the early career success of Carson Wentz in Philadelphia. Wentz had his best years under Peterson, even looking like an MVP in 2017. If he can have the same effect on Lawrence, Jacksonville should be able to get close to a winning record.
Jacksonville used the first overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft to select DE Travon Walker. He should provide immediate help on a defense that was one of the worst in the league last season. Walker is big and fast, but he will need help developing if he wants to reach his pass-rushing potential.
Houston Texans (+2200)
Last and almost certainly least we have the Houston Texans. At 22-1, Houston has the worst odds to win the AFC south this season. In fact, the Texans are tied for the longest odds of any team in their respective division betting odds.
Houston moved on from David Culley after just one season. To replace Cully, the Texans promoted DC Lovie Smith to the head coaching role. Smith has over a decade of head coaching experience and should be an immediate upgrade over Culley.
Upgrade or not, Smith will not have much to work with on this Texans roster. Houston had one of the worst-ranked offenses and defenses last year. It is hard to imagine Smith can get much out of the defense this year than he did last season.
Smith will have a similar challenge on offense. QB Davis Mills had a solid rookie year all things considered. He racked up 2,664 passing yards and 16 passing TDs. However, he was only able to produce two wins in 11 total starts.
Mills’ best offensive weapon this season will once again be WR Brandin Cooks. Cooks should be in line for another good, yet surprisingly quiet, season. Houston also signed RB Marlon Mack in free agency to replace David Johnson.
AFC South Division Betting Predictions
The Jaguars and Texans appear to be in for another year of their perpetual rebuilds. As a result, the AFC South is once again a two-team race. The Titans look to three-peat, while Indy attempts to win its first division crown since 2014.
Tennessee knows how to win regular season games by pounding the ball. The Titans have used that formula every year under HC Mike Vrabel. If Henry stays healthy, there is no reason why it should not work again.
Indianapolis on the other hand just upgraded at QB. According to HC Frank Reich, the Colts want to have a more balanced attack this season. This is great in theory, but Indy lacks the pass catchers for that approach.
Conclusion
The AFC South title race will present plenty of betting opportunities throughout the season. I am picking the Titans to three-peat, but the Colts also look like serious contenders this year. Check out this beginner’s sports betting guide for more help betting on the NFL.
